Grappling & Kickboxing Class for Ages 13+
Grappling
There classes will teach you to defend yourself while being on the ground, as well, if interested, give you the opportunity to take it to the next level and compete in both local and national competitions. For you wrestlers, this is a great way to sharpen your skills during the offseason and spend some serious time on the mat.
Grappling is the utilization of the techniques that allows for effective control of an opponent using takedowns, body leverage to achieve an ideal position, and finally submissions.
A submission is when you are forced to tap out (verbally or physically indicating that you give up) because you are caught in a choke, arm bar, or leg lock. Often used as a way to determine a winner in a grappling match.
Kickboxing
As opposed to grappling, these classes focus on the standup striking techniques of the Martial Arts. A combination of different styles of standup fighting will help you to develop an arsenal of striking attacks using punches, kicks, knees, and elbows.
Styles of striking include Western Boxing, Karate, Kickboxing, and Thai Boxing.
Classes are for both men and women ages 13 and up. You are able to progress at your ow pace and all the students are encouraged to support each other at all times and promote a positive learning environment.
